Friday C.A.F.E.
Friday C.A.F.E. (Community and Family Engagement) is a monthly gathering for family engagement professionals in San Diego schools and communities, such as parent liaisons and home-school facilitators. It was inspired by the Creative Mornings model from Brooklyn, aiming to create a peer-to-peer learning and resource-sharing network. Meetings are held the third Friday morning of each month. Zion’s Story is a San Diego County Office of Education endorsed human trafficking prevention and awareness program for middle and high school youth, families, and communities. This program is a one-of-a-kind creative and interactive experience that equips students to recognize the signs of trafficking and to stand up for themselves and others. It cultivates awareness, empathy, and action while at the same time building community and belonging. You can watch the promotional video here.
San Diego County middle and high schools are invited to participate in their Spring 2025 tour of Zion's Story running between April and May. These tours often fill quickly, so if your school would like to reserve a date or to find out more, please let them know by filling out their interest survey.
Equitable Schools Fund
The Equitable Schools Fund by Sister Cities Project is an innovative approach to education funding in San Diego: for the first time, a dedicated pathway to direct donations to K-12 public schools that historically have not had access to private donations to supplement inadequate state funds.
